Press Release
"Don't be a Plonker"
If you cause trouble in the pubs and clubs of St Helier - you may be barred from them all.
The Safer St Helier Community Partnership(SSHCP) have introduced NiteNet a radio communication system that enables pubs and clubs to communicate and warn each other when someone has been removed from or refused entry to their premises.
The introduction of NiteNet is part of a campaign being run by SSH to encourage people to drink sensibly and enjoy themselves in a safe and sociable environment without spoiling it for others.
The aim of the campaign is to promote responsible drinking in St Helier and get the message across to those who cause trouble; that their behaviour is not welcomed and will not be tolerated.
Colin Russell,
Chair of SSHCP, said "Safer St Helier Community Partnership is working
with the pubs and clubs of St Helier as well as the police to make this
Xmas the safest ever for everyone." He said "The message is
simple - If you cause trouble and are ejected from a pub or refused entry
then your night out is over. You won't be able to get into other NiteNet
pubs and clubs so you might as well go home- and by the way the Taxi Marshals
are part of the system so you may end up walking!! Don't be a plonker!"
